After inserting a rolling or a sliding joint , use this dialog box to enter joint properties.
Rolling and sliding joints close kinematic loops between two components that have a relative motion in the same plane or two parallel planes. The joint coordinate system is created automatically and positioned at the point of contact. The forces in the joint are expressed in this coordinate system.
Access: |
In the Dynamic Simulation browser, right-click a rolling or a sliding joint and select Properties. |
Suppress joint |
Suppresses the joint so that it is not considered in subsequent simulations . By default, the joint is active. |
Crossed |
Specifies that the two parts of the belt are crossed between the two pulleys. Available for Belt joints only. |
Type |
Displays the joint name. You cannot change this value. |
Display |
These parameters affect only the appearance of force or moment vectors in the graphics window. When you select the joint in the browser, the joint coordinate system appears in blue in the graphics window. |
|
Displays the force vector and enables the scale and color parameters. |
|
Displays the torque vector and enables the scale and color parameters. |
|
Adjusts the size of the vector. Use this option to make all the vector visible in the graphics window. The default is 0.01. |
|
Opens the Microsoft Color window so that you can click the color you want for the vector in the graphics window. |
