In the Dynamic Simulation browser, under the External loads folder, right-click Gravity and select Define gravity. |
Suppress |
Suppresses gravity so that it is not considered in subsequent simulations . By default, gravity is suppressed. The icon in the browser is white when gravity is suppressed, and yellow when it is active. When gravity is suppressed, none of the other parameters in this dialog box are available. Note: Mechanisms created in version 11 of the software or earlier inherit the suppress setting applied when the mechanism was saved.

Entity |
Enables the Direction and Value parameters. |
Vector Component |
Enables you to enter the vector component of gravity in the assembly's coordinate system. |
Entity group |
Enables selection of an entity to define gravity. Possible entities are linear and circular edges, or cylindrical and planar faces. The entity must belong to a part in the Grounded group. You can give a value in the requested units. Entity is selected by default. |
Reverses the direction of the gravity vector . |
Value |
Sets the value of gravity. By default, this option is set to 386.220 in/s 2 or 9810,0 mm/s 2 . |
Vector Components group |
g[X]: |
Specifies the gravity vector component along the X axis. |
g[Y]: |
Specifies the gravity vector component along the Y axis. |
g[Z]: |
Specifies the gravity vector component along the Z axis. |
After you define gravity, a yellow vector appears in the graphics window and shows the defined direction.
