A family mold is a type of multi-cavity mold. It contains two or more cavities and each cavity forms a part to an assembled product. Unlike multi-cavity molds that have multiple identical cavities, family molds have multiple cavities that are not all identical.
In this tutorial you will:
- Create a family mold.
- Orient the models in the mold.
- Generate and test a runner system.
This tutorial takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
Note: Throughout this tutorial it is assumed that metric units are used.
To change units:
- Click then Options to open the Options dialog.
- Select the General tab.
- Select Metric units from the Active units drop-down menu.
- Click OK.
