Autodesk Fabrication applications can calculate your Material prices based on part developments. It uses actual CAMduct manufacturing developments to calculate the weight of the parts which co-incides with a cost per Kg. To enable this option, the Costing option on the HASP key must be purchased. ESTduct automatically comes with this option enabled.
The Material Database found at Database
Fitting
Materials is where configuration of each gauge can be achieved for a per Kg cost. If the cost per tonne is known for each gauge, a division of 100 can determine this value and convert into Kg.
The material calculation used by the software takes into account the density value of the material found in material properties. With this value and in conjunction with the wire gauge field, the software can determine the cost of material on each of the parts used.
For an alternative calculation, there is the further option to calculate from a weight per sq/m, which if values are entered into this field, ignores the density value.
The ability to create a new material and assign a cost is shown in this section. Click Example and Step by Step for more information on how to do this.
