What's New in Maya LT 2015 Extension 1

Game Exporter: Easy export for animation clips and static meshes

Export models, skinned meshes, and animation clips more quickly and easily with the Game Exporter window, designed specifically for game content creators. Avoid navigating unnecessary technical details and options, focusing only on the FBX options that give the results you want.

Utility nodes

Utility nodes for rigging are now available in Maya LT, giving you greater freedom to use rigs generated by third-party, automated rigging utilities. When setting up new rigs, you can access these nodes using MEL commands, the Hypershade window, or the Node Editor.

Refer to the following topics for new and updated information.

Efficient animation with Set Driven Key

Driven keys let you establish relationships between attributes, making the value of one attribute drive another. A change in the driver attribute alters the value of the driven attribute, letting you keyframe interrelated objects much more efficiently.

Example content in the Samples Visor

A new Feature Examples tab added to the Samples Visor window (Window > General Editors > Samples Visor) lets you access a set of sample scene files built for exploring the new features added in this version of Maya LT.

For example, load the GameExporter_Example.mlt file to load the pre-animated Sven character, then experiment with exporting multiple animation clips with the Game Exporter.

To open a sample scene, select the directory you want, then middle-drag the .mlt file into the scene.
