The Add Note rule enables you to create rule-defined material notes that show material information in work locations. For example, you might create a rule that displays the model number of each pole in the work location. When you insert a pole in your drawing, the Note tab of the Material Editor displays the note. When you assign the pole to a work location and insert a work location symbol, the model number is included in the work location information.
Use the following process to create rule-defined material notes:
- In the Rule Configuration dialog box, define the note. Be sure to associate it with the feature of interest, for example Material
StructuralPointPole. For more information, see To Create a Note Rule. - Configure the work location. For more information, see To Configure a Work Location.
- Create a style rule for the work location. For more information, see To Create a Work Location Style Rule. If there is no work location style rule, the default style is used.
- Add the work location to the drawing. For more information, see To Add Features to a Work Location.
