To configure data

Configure imported data sources to specify desired settings, such as geo location, draping options, stylization, or tooltips. During configuration, a user can also map data source properties to model properties. All configuration settings except for the data Type field can be modified after initial configuration

Configure Data

  1. Import a database or file-based data source.
  2. Double-click the new data source in the Data Sources panel to open the Data Source Configuration dialog box.
    Note: Data imported using the Model Builder configures automatically. Some data types are available for additional configuration, others are not.
  3. Click Type and select the appropriate category for your data (such as Road, Building, Coverage, etc.).
    Note: You cannot change the data source Type after initial configuration.
  4. The Tabs available for displaying configuration fields depend on the data Type specified. The following tabs may be available for configuration:

    Tooltip

    Add a tooltip to feature classes in a data set when importing the set. See Create Tooltips During Data Import.

    Table Displays all possible model properties for the data source type. Click an individual field to select or input a property value, or click to create an expression. See Use Expressions.
    Script

    Raster Configure raster data settings such as Classification, Color Mask, Gamma Correction, Channel Level, and Band Mapping. See To configure raster data.
