Add polygons with Quad Draw

You can use the Quad Draw tool to add new polygon faces to an existing mesh. This is useful if you want to append a base shape with new details.

To add polygons with Quad Draw

  1. Select the mesh you want to add polygons to.
  2. Activate the Quad Draw tool.
  3. Drop dots and Create polygons as you would with any normal Quad Draw operation.

You can create quads or tris between combinations of dots and existing vertices.

Note: When adding polygons to an asymmetrical mesh while Topological Symmetry is enabled, the Quad Draw tool may produce lamina faces or other undesirable constructs on the mirrored side. We recommend only using symmetrical Quad Draw when your mesh is 100% symmetrical, or running the Cleanup command afterward to remove any unwanted component constructs.
