Use the Helical drilling strategy to bore out a large hole with a small tool. The concept is similar to trochoidal milling. The difference between the two is that trochoidal milling machines a slot (no variation in Z) and helical milling drills a hole (machines down the Z axis).
There are several pages associated with the Helical drilling strategy:
- Drilling — The main page used to define a helical drilling toolpath.
- Retraction — Settings to control how far the thread tool retracts between pecks.
- Draft — Settings to create a tapered hole using a tool smaller than the hole.
- Order — Settings to control the order of machining.
- Automatic verification — Settings to automatically verify the toolpath when calculating it.
