Surface morphing

Morphing allows you to deform a group of surfaces into a different shape.

All the detail on the surfaces, such as fillets and trimming remain intact, even though the shape may be totally changed.

Morphing can be used for a number of applications:

It can be controlled by using points, curves or surfaces around the model. For best results, use morphing to make minor modifications rather than substantial changes to the shape.

Note: The point, curve and surface morphing functionality is subject to a patent application. Patent pending: GB2401213 Altering a CAD model.

To create a surface morph:

  1. Select the surfaces you want to morph.
  2. Select Edit tab > Morph panel > All to display the Surface morphing dialog.
  3. Select the relevant tab on the dialog to specify the morph, using one of the four morph methods:
    • Single Point
    • Point/Plane
    • Two Curves
    • Two Surfaces
