Structural Connection Instance Properties

Modify connection handler instance properties to change level identity data, phasing data, or user-defined project parameters.

To change instance properties, select the element and change its properties on the Properties palette.

Name Description
Structural
Approval Status Specifies a user defined approval status for the selected connector. Add or modify status options on the Parameters tab in the Structural Connections Settings dialog. Some connections may supply their own value.
Override by Instance
  • If you check the box, the type configuration of the connection is ignored. The Detailed Parameters Edit button becomes available. Click the Edit button to define a specific configuration for the selected instance and override the type configuration.
    Note: It is checked by default for the models upgraded from versions prior to 2020.
  • If you clear the box, the connection will have the type configuration and any modifications of the instance will be ignored.
Note: The Override by Instance property is available for filters, tags and schedules.
Detailed Parameters Opens a parameter modification dialog specific to the selected connector. This parameter is unavailable to generic connections.
Input Elements Displays the element types associated with the connection.
Dimensions
Volume The volume of the selected connection. This is a read-only value.
Structural Analysis
Code Checking Status Specifies the code checking status of connections as designed. Some connections may block this parameter or change its value.
Identity Data
Image Displays an image file associated with the instance of the element. Click the value field and then click the browse button to open the Manage Images dialog. See Manage Images Dialog.
Comments User comments.
Mark A label created for the connector. This value must be unique for each element in a project. Revit warns you if the number is already used but allows you to continue using it. You can see the warning using the Review Warnings tool. See Review Warning Messages .
Phasing
Phase Created Indicates in which phase the connector was created. See Project Phasing.
Phase Demolished Indicates in which phase the connector was demolished. See Project Phasing.
