Note: This topic is for Roombook users only.
Roombook includes country-specific calculation standards:
- International Standard which calculates the real quantities (with no calculation rules)
- German VOB Standard which uses a specified opening measurement system (also supports the calculation of real quantities)
- Click .
- Click Change to modify the standard.
- Define the settings.
- Click OK.
Now, the defined calculation standard is set current and will be used for the next room quantity calculation.
- Calculation Standard
-
In this field is shown the current calculation standard. In order to change it, click Change.
The settings are stored in the current drawing. In new drawings, the default setting is applied until changed.
- International
- The International Standard calculates the real quantities.
- Sub areas
- Optionally, some objects can be considered or not as sub areas (Yes/No toggle):
- Consider interferences as sub areas
- Consider body modifiers as sub areas
Those objects can optionally be listed and calculated as sub areas.
- VOB Standard
- The German VOB standard defines a specified set of rules for the calculation of room quantities.
- Sub areas
- Optionally, some objects can be considered or not as sub areas (Yes/No toggle):
- Consider interferences as sub areas
- Consider body modifiers as sub areas
Those objects can optionally be listed and calculated as sub areas.
- VOB
- Depending on which trade the quantities are calculated for, there are different rules for subtracting sub areas.
For example: Sub areas like openings, windows, doors up to a size of 2.5 m² shall be ignored for calculating wall surfaces. For sub areas in floor and ceiling surfaces shall be applied a size limit of 0.10 m².
- Wall Opening
- By default, the option is activated with a value of 2.5 m². In this way, openings in walls up to this size are ignored. All openings which are larger, are calculated.
- Floor and Ceiling Openings
- By default, the option is activated with a value of 0.10 m². In this way, openings in floors and ceilings up to this size are ignored. All openings which are larger, are calculated.
- Change Values
- You can at any time change the calculation settings, by simply entering another value in the edit field. The following room quantity calculation is performed with the current calculation setting. In this way, you can calculate the room quantities according to VOB by trades.
- Exceptions to the Rules
- Of course, you can define exceptions to the rule, that means to calculate individual openings regardless of their size. Those individual changes can be done in calculated Room Quantity Sub Areas dialog box, by clicking VOB Calc. If you don't want to perform a VOB-conform quantity calculation, but instead want to calculate the real quantities, you can simply set the two options to "Ignore Openings: No". In this way, all openings regardless of their size are calculated.
- Set as Default for New Drawings
- When you changed the values, and want to use those further in new drawings, activate this checkmark. In this case, the settings, as delivered by the program, are changed and your values are taken as default.
- Restore Defaults
- With this button you can quickly restore the default settings.
