This example demonstrates the common steps used to create and style hair with default splines.
It illustrates how to do the following:
- Place and shape guides to create the general look of the hair style.
- Specify the character's hairline by painting a Ptex-based
Mask.
- Create a hair part by painting a Ptex-based
Region Map.
- Generate Points maps for clumping maps.
- Use
Clumping modifiers to refine the hair style.
Important: Before starting, make sure that you set the location of your Maya project. XGen creates a number of files, such as Ptex map files, that need to be referenced from the Maya project directory.
