A tag is an annotation for identifying elements in a drawing.
About Tag Labels
When a tag is created, labels are added to display the value of desired element parameters. These labels display the values for the object’s corresponding parameters after the tag is loaded and placed in the project.
Place Tags with Multiple Leaders
Tag multiple elements with the same tag using the Add / Remove Host option during tag placement or add more hosts (leaders) to existing tags.
Tag by Category
To apply tags to elements based on their categories, use the Tag by Category tool.

When you are adding an element in a view, use the Tag on Placement tool to automatically tag the element as it is placed.

Create Sequential Room Number Tags
As you place rooms in a project, you can use tags that sequentially number the rooms. The tags automatically number based on the Number parameter for rooms. Values can be alphabetical, numerical, or alphanumeric sequences.

Change the Tag Leader
After adding a tag to a view, you can change its leader line in several ways.
Select the Host for a Tag
Use the Select Host command to change the selection from the tag to the host element of the selected tag.
Rotate Tag with Component
The Family Parameter Rotate with component controls the orientation of a tag. Enable the parameter to allow the tag to rotate as the tagged component is rotated.
Align Tags
To align tags with other similar tags, drag them in a view.
Rehost a Tag
If needed, you can change the element to which a tag applies. The new element must belong to the same category as the original element for the tag.
Tag Type Properties
Change type properties for a tag to change the arrowhead shape for leader lines.
Tag Instance Properties
Change instance properties for a tag to specify whether it has a leader line, and how the tag is oriented in the view.
