  1. To change area calculation settings, click Quantification tab Areabook Extension panel(Calculation Settings).

    The Calculation Settings dialog opens.

  2. Make changes to the listed parameters as described in the table below.
  3. (Optional) Select Set as default for new projects to ensure future projects will use the same settings.

Room Assignment Type Select from the loaded room assignment families in the project. You can load additional families with the Edit Room Assignment Type tool.
Height Lines Position
Height line 1 The length value of the first height line.
Enable height line 2 Specify yes to use the second height line; select No if it is not required.
Height line 2 The length value of the second height line.
Calculation Factors under Roofs, Stairs, and Niches (DIN Standard only)
Below height line 1 By default, subareas under Height line 1 are calculated with the calculation factor 0% as they do not represent a fully usable living area due to their very small clear height. Adjust this percentage to meet the needs of your project.
Between height lines 1 and 2 By default, subareas between Height line 1 and Height line 2 are calculated with the calculation factor 50% as they only represent a restricted usable living area due to their small clear height.
Above height line 2 By default, subareas above Height line 2 are calculated with the calculation factor 100% as they represent a fully usable living area due to their full clear height. Adjust this percentage to meet the needs of your project. Adjust this percentage to meet the needs of your project.
Ignore elements by area (DIN Standard only)
Ignore When Yes, subareas such as columns or virtual rooms in the room will not be considered when calculating area. Specify a tolerance threshold with the following Area equal to or less than parameter. When No, all subareas are labeled and included in the area calculation.
Area equal to or less than Specifies the subarea threshold for elements ignored by labeling and calculation.
Ignore elements by height (DIN Standard only)
Ignore When Yes, subareas such as columns or wall segments in the room will not be considered when calculating area. Specify a tolerance threshold with the following Height equal to or less than parameter. When No, all subareas are labeled and included in the area calculation.
Height equal to or less than Specifies the subarea height threshold for elements ignored by labeling and calculation.
Ignore elements by riser count (DIN Standard only)
Ignore When Yes, stairs up to a certain number of steps in the room will not be considered when calculating area. Specify the number of steps with the following Riser count equal to or less than parameter. When No, all stairs are labeled and calculated.
Riser count equal to or less than Specifies the riser count threshold for stairs ignored by labeling and calculation.
Ignore elements by depth (DIN Standard only)
Ignore When Yes, niches touching and influencing the floor in the room will not be considered when calculating area. Specify a tolerance threshold with the following Depth equal to or less than parameter. When No, all niches are calculated.
Depth equal to or less than Specifies the niche depth threshold ignored by labeling and calculation.
