Wind Rose Data Analysis Overview

The Wind Rose feature displays a wind rose based on the weather data for the location that you specified for your current project. This is then overlayed either on a geographical map of your site and its surroundings or on a plan view of your model geometry.

This allows you to consider the speed and direction of prevailing winds at different times of the year with respect to your site and the buildings within it.

To use the Wind Rose feature

  1. Open a model that contains conceptual massing elements.
  2. Click Analyze tab Climate Analysis panel Wind Rose.
  3. Select a date/time range over which you want the wind rose calculated and then zoom in or move the map to achieve the desired view.

You can switch between map and model overlays using the Map and Model buttons.

You can also change the date and time range over which the wind rose is calculated. This allows you to visualize differences between the seasons and different times of the day. See Date/Time Selection.
