  1. Define project settings for the template - In Template > Packages, click Settings at the upper right of the page to define project settings such as measurement, classifications, and currency display for the project template. These settings will apply to all takeoff packages created in projects using this template.

  2. Create takeoff packages for the template - Once settings for the project template are configured, return to the Packages page using the left navigation to create takeoff packages for the template. This process is similar to creating takeoff packages in a regular project.

  3. Add takeoff types to the template - Within each package in the template, add takeoff types that you can use to define your takeoff. You can create and add individual takeoff types to the template or import multiple takeoff types at once from an existing project or template.

    • Learn more about the process for creating takeoff types in a regular project, which follows a similar process as creating takeoff types for a template.
    • Learn about importing takeoff types from another existing project template at importing takeoff types.

  4. Create projects using the template - Once a template is configured, you can create projects using your template.

Projects created using this project template will have these takeoff settings automatically applied and will have any takeoff types added to the template included in the new project.
