Data Connector allows project administrators and members with executive overview access to extract data from projects by running or scheduling data extractions. The easy extraction offers you the flexibility to analyze data using your own business intelligence tools.

Project administrators can access Data Connector to extract data for a single project they are currently in.
Members with executive overview access enabled can choose to access Data Connector to extract data for all projects at account level, or a single project at project level. Account administrators can grant executive overview access to members.
To access Data Connector:
You can now run or schedule a data extraction.
Project administrators can view the data extractions they've run themselves.
Members with executive overview access can view the data extractions they've run themselves. The available extractions will depend on whether the executive has selected an account or a project.
To run a data extraction, click Run extraction. This action opens the Run extraction flyout panel on the right side of the screen.
Click Run extraction.
Click the Include data from drop-down list and select the tools for which you want to extract data.
Click the Include activity data drop-down list and select the time period for which you want to extract activity data. The time period can be one of the following:
Past day: Includes activity data from the last 24 hours.
Custom: Allows you to select the start and end dates using the date pickers.
The data extraction will now start processing. Depending on the number of projects included, data extraction may take some time. While the extraction is in progress, you can navigate away and return later to check on progress.

You can automate regular data extractions by using scheduling.
Click Schedule.
This opens the Schedule extraction flyout panel on the right.
You can edit the following fields:
Click Schedule.
To change or delete the schedule, click edit. Edit the schedule and click Save or click Remove schedule to delete the schedule.

You will receive an email once the extraction is complete after which you can download a ZIP file containing a series of CSV files from the Data Connector area of Insight. Each CSV file represents a different set of data for the categories listed previously.
