Base views are drawing views that are derived directly from a 3D model.
The first drawing view that is place in a drawing is the base view. A base view is essentially a projected view, viewed from a specific direction; front, back, top, bottom, left, right, and so on. During creation, you specify the scale, display settings, and orientation.
- In the Drawing Views toolbar, click Base View .
- Click to specify the location or the insertion point of the base view.
- In the contextual panel:
- select the scale ratio to scale the base view.
- edit the display settings of the component.

Hidden Lines: Select On or Off from the drop-down list to display of hidden lines within the base view to be modified.

Tangent Edges: Select Full length, Shortened or Off from the drop-down list to display of Tangent edges within the base view to be modified.

Interference Edges: Select On or Off from the drop-down list to display of Inteference edges within the base view to be modified.
- Click Create to accept the base view.
