Create Projected Views

The projected views are drawing views generated from an existing drawing view.

When the cursor moves away from the parent view, the projected views are displayed. The preview of the projected views depends on the orientation, rotation angle and projection angle used by the parent view. The projected view maintain a parent-child relationship with the view it was generate from. The projected views inherit most of their settings from the base view. However, when the projected views are manually changed, they no longer inherit the settings of the base view.

  1. In the Drawing Views toolbar, click Projected View.
  2. Click an existing view to select as a current view.
  3. Move the cursor away from the parent view, the rendered preview is attached to the cursor.
    Note: when you move the cursor, you can preview the change in the projected views.
  4. Click to specify the location or the insertion point of the first projected view.
  5. Click Create to accept the projected view.
  6. Repeat the steps from 1 to 5 to place different projected views.
