Export Files Log

You can export a log of all current version of files from a selected folder only, or a selected folder including all its subfolders.

  1. Click the More menu next to the relevant folder

  2. Select Export files log

    You have the following options:

    • Title: Enter your desired title
    • Folder options: Choose to export a files log of just the current folder, or the current folder and all its subfolders
    • Custom attributes: Choose whether to include your custom attributes in the files log. Default system attributes are included automatically.
  3. Click Export

You will receive an email containing a link to download the files log.

Note: The files log has a limit of 20,000 items. You won't receive an email if the selected folder is empty.

Files Log Format

Once you have downloaded and opened the files log, the Overview tab of the XLSX spreadsheet contains the following information:

  • Created on: The time and date the files log was exported
  • Created by: The member who initiated the export
  • Total items: The number of entries in the files log
  • Sorted by: How the entries are sorted
  • Filtered by: This details the folder name, if subfolders have been included, and whether custom attributes have been included
  • Folder description: The description of the folder if one has been entered.

The Files tab contains the entries for each file and displays all default system attributes, including:

  • Folder Name and Path
  • Name
  • Software version: This details the version of Revit used to create the relevant RVT file.
  • Model type
  • Revision: This shows the revision information for the file.
  • Description
  • Version number
  • Published to:
  • Markup
  • Size
  • Shared
  • Last Updated
  • Updated By
  • Review Status

If custom attributes have been selected then these will display after the default system attributes.

Note: You can open a file directly in Docs by clicking the file name.
