Sharing RFIs Through Bridge Overview
Sharing RFIs through Bridge enables you to share closed native RFIs between projects that have been connected through Bridge. When you share an RFI, a read-only copy is created in the target project, ensuring that important information is available to all relevant stakeholders.
Supported RFI workflows
Sharing RFIs through Bridge supports both RFI workflow types available in Autodesk Build.
Default RFI Workflow
The standard RFI workflow with Creator, Manager, and Reviewer roles is fully supported for Bridge sharing.
RFI Workflow with Coordinator
The enhanced workflow that includes an RFI Coordinator role is also supported for Bridge sharing.
Supported RFI statuses
RFIs follow a specific status progression regardless of workflow type, with statuses including:
- Draft: Initial creation state, not yet submitted
- Waiting for submission: Completed and sent to managers
- Open: Forwarded to reviewers by managers
- Answered: Official response provided
- Closed: Process completed, RFI distributed to project members
When an RFI is shared through Bridge, it maintains its Closed status in the target project but includes all the relevant information from its progression through the workflow. For more information about RFI workflows and statuses, see Process RFI.
How Bridge sharing works
- Source Project: RFI must be in Closed status before it can be shared
- Bridge Connection: Projects must be connected through Bridge
- Sharing Action: Manager or Administrator initiates sharing to connected projects
- Target Project: Read-only copy is created with preserved context and history
- Ongoing Sync: Status updates sync automatically if source RFI is reopened
