To Project Objects to a Section View

You can project AutoCAD points, 3D solids, blocks, multi-view blocks, 3D polylines, COGO points, feature lines, and survey figures to a section view.

  • AutoCAD points, 3D solids, blocks, multi-view blocks, and COGO points can be displayed as either crossings or projections.
  • Linear objects such as 3D polylines, feature lines, and survey figures can be displayed as crossings. A crossing is a marker in the section view that shows the location where the object crosses the sample line.
  1. Do one of the following:
    • Right-click a sample line and click Project Objects To Section View.
    • Click Home tab Profile & Section Views panel Section Views drop-down Project Objects To Section View Find .
  2. Click one or more objects in the drawing that you want to project. Right-click or press Enter after all objects are selected.
  3. Click the section view or the sample line.

The Project Objects to Section View dialog box is displayed.

  4. Use the dialog box to control whether crossings and projections are drawn for each object, and to specify styles and elevation options. Click OK.
Note: After the objects are projected, you can change these settings on the Projections and Crossings tab of the Section View Properties dialog box.
