Upgrading Power BI Dashboard
If you have created dashboards using the Power BI connector versions 2.0.10 or later versions, you may be considering an upgrade to leverage the new features and improvements in version 2.2.0 This guide will walk you through the process of upgrading your existing dashboards to work seamlessly with the 2.2.0 connector. Before you begin the upgrade process, ensure that you have a backup of your current dashboard. This precautionary step will help you avoid data loss and provide a fallback option if needed.
Important:
- If your dashboard was built using the "Data Filter workflow," be aware that refreshing might not work as expected and could result in errors, such as missing columns or tables.
- Dashboards created using the "Without Filter workflow" should refresh without any issues.
- The "ExternalElementId" columns are reduced from three to two. Adjust your data model accordingly to accommodate this change.
- Open your existing dashboard created with the older connector version.
- Locate and click the Refresh button to pull the latest data using the 2.2.0 connector.
- Proceed with the refresh, and the dashboard should update with the latest data from the 2.2.0 connector.
- After successfully refreshing your dashboard, import the 2.2.0 visual and load the data exchange.
