Prepare Revit Files for Data Exchanges
Before you can create a Data Exchange in Autodesk Docs, you need to prepare your file in Revit to include the relevant 3D views, add to a publish set, and publish to the cloud.
Create and Manage 3D Views in Revit
Create 3D views of the model that contain the geometry and properties needed for a Data Exchange. You can limit the geometry included in the view with a section box and by turning off the visibility of categories in the view. Keeping Revit file sizes under 5 GB is generally recommended for optimal performance and stability, though file size alone is not the sole factor affecting project efficiency.

Add 3D Views to a Publish Set
Add the 3D views that you want for your Data Exchange to a Publish Set. You can create a new Publish Set, or include these views in an existing Publish Set.

Publish to the Cloud
Publish your set to the cloud for others to view by selecting the relevant project and folder. Publishing to the cloud versions the Revit model and lets team members know there is new data available.
