SolidWorks Connector - Known Limitations

  • The use of a "reference" sketch in primitive geometry is not supported. When a sketch is declared as a "reference", no dimensions or relations on that sketch will be available for editing.
  • Currently, creating and loading Data Exchanges for sheet metal and weldments are not supported.
  • When creating a Data Exchange for an assembly that contains both blank components and solid geometry, only the solid geometry is loaded into any connector during the loading process. The empty components are not included in this process.
  • When a primitive geometry includes a point and is viewed on the web, the point within the primitive geometry will not be visible in the web view.
  • Clicking the Update option for a Data Exchange results in the creation of a new version, even if no changes have been made to the Data Exchange document.
  • The creation process for large Data Exchanges involving sheet metal and solid body components may become unresponsive. Even after two hours, the exchange may still not be created.
  • When creating a Data Exchange from a loaded exchange that contains geometry, the colors associated with the geometry do not appear in the created Data Exchange.
  • If multiple documents are open in the SolidWorks software and the Data Exchange button is launched to open the SolidWorks connector, you will not be able to switch between the opened documents while the connector is open.
  • Polyline units load incorrectly in Centimeters instead of user defined units while loading AutoCAD Data Exchanges.
  • Geometry count mismatch is observed while loading Data Exchange from AutoCAD to SolidWorks Connector.
