Grasshopper Connector - Known Limitations

  • Mesh objects created in Rhino and Grasshopper are not loading properly within Grasshopper.
  • When you load a Data Exchange and connect it to the "Receive Exchange" node, it might not update automatically. Even though the data is received, you will need to click or move the node to see the updated information.
  • Loading the same Data Exchange into both Rhino and Grasshopper at the same time may delete the geometry in Rhino.
  • When you apply colors to extruded geometries such as like boxes and cylinders in Rhino, it will not be carried over when you create a new Data Exchange of these geometries in Grasshopper.
  • Loading the Data Exchanges created in Inventor 23 and Inventor 24, the geometry loads correctly in Rhino and Grasshopper but the parameters and layers might not be imported properly.
  • The loader is not displayed while creating or updating a Data Exchange. This can be confusing for users as there is no visual indication that the process is ongoing.
  • Some geometries may experience scaling issues when loaded into Grasshopper.
  • Some Data Exchange geometries are missing and having transformation issues when loaded into Grasshopper.
  • Creating Data Exchanges with close curve primitive geometry is currently not supported.
  • User-defined parameters are not visible in Revit 24 when Data Exchanges are created from Grasshopper 7.
  • Code Callable node "DXData.GetFromUrl" in Grasshopper might stop working unexpectedly within the same session.
