02. Does Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla support only the English language?
Yes. It currently supports only English language.
03. Do I have to uninstall the previous version of connector to install the latest version?
If you are installing Autodesk Data Exchange for Tekla version 1.1.2 or later, you must first uninstall any previous versions of the connector. You can download and install the required version by following the steps from the Install section.
04. How can I uninstall the Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla plug-in?
Uninstall the connector from the control panel. For more information, see the Uninstall topic of this document.
05. Do exchanges get updated automatically?
Exchanges do not get updated automatically from the linked Tekla models.
06. Can I use connector on more than one instance of Tekla simultaneously?
No. Users can open only one instance of the connector.
07. Why do exchanges have size zero in Autodesk Docs?
Exchange files in Autodesk Docs or BIM 360 are only references to the actual exchange information, stored at a granular level.
08. Will the elements loaded via Data Exchange in Revit keep dimensions on update?
Dimensions created for elements in Data Exchange will be retained on updates only for the elements that are not updated. For any elements that have been updated, users will need to create the dimensions again. The Data Exchange team is working on resolving this limitation and will address it soon.
09. Does Data Exchange support material mapping?
Currently, Data Exchange elements only retain the color of the elements. Data Exchange does not support material mapping and render styles.
10. Can I export a Bolt component in Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla?
You can export Bolts using connector as long as they have defined profiles or standards in the Bolt Catalogue. Ensure the appropriate profiles or standards are available in the Bolt Catalogue before creating an exchange. Bolts with undefined profiles or standards cannot be exported.
11: I’m getting a "Loading unsuccessful" error after installing the latest version of the connector. What should I do?
This issue usually occurs if you have not uninstalled an older version below v1.1.0 before installing the latest version above v1.1.2 of the Autodesk Data Exchange Tekla Connector.
To resolve this, follow these steps:
- Open Control Panel.
- Search for and uninstall "Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla" (versions below v1.1.0).
- Also, uninstall Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla.
- Start Tekla Structures and check if the DATA EXCHANGE ribbon is still visible.
- If the ribbon still appears, run the uninstallation utility from this path: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Uninstallers\Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla
\AdskUninstallHelper.exe - Once the connector is fully removed, reinstall the latest version by following the steps in the Installation section.
