The Profile feature, also referred to as "Profiler", in CAMduct pre-processes imported CAD drawn parts. These can be:
- DXF Files or parts of nests
- NC data files written by other software
- Parts drawn in earlier versions using the "Profile Master" tool
- Parts drawn within Opus
Profiler is also used to determine the tool use on item files when entered into a job, not just CAD drawn parts.
The settings in Profiler are configured in the Profile Database. Profiler performs the following tasks:
- Analyses the geometry
- Removes duplicate elements
- Reports or eliminates gaps that are repairable
- Reports multiple paths
- Orders the parts into islands: Inner, Center Line and Outer
- Assigns default lead-ins and Lead-outs
- Assigns the default tooling
- Assigns colors to islands and tools
- Saves the part with a Status Flag
Profiler can be accessed when importing an item or through Opus by clicking on View Profile, or selecting the Profile Icon
in the Opus toolbar.
