Profiler

The Profile feature, also referred to as "Profiler", in CAMduct pre-processes imported CAD drawn parts. These can be:

  • DXF Files or parts of nests
  • NC data files written by other software
  • Parts drawn in earlier versions using the "Profile Master" tool
  • Parts drawn within Opus

Profiler is also used to determine the tool use on item files when entered into a job, not just CAD drawn parts.

The settings in Profiler are configured in the Profile Database. Profiler performs the following tasks:

  • Analyses the geometry
  • Removes duplicate elements
  • Reports or eliminates gaps that are repairable
  • Reports multiple paths
  • Orders the parts into islands: Inner, Center Line and Outer
  • Assigns default lead-ins and Lead-outs
  • Assigns the default tooling
  • Assigns colors to islands and tools
  • Saves the part with a Status Flag

Profiler can be accessed when importing an item or through Opus by clicking on View Profile, or selecting the Profile Icon in the Opus toolbar.
