Update Settings
The Update Settings tab of the Factory Options dialog enables you to automatically update files with any existing changes from the LAYOUTDATA file.
This tab includes options that affect the automatic file updates and notifications in all Factory Design Applications including Inventor, AutoCAD, and Navisworks. The settings will take effect when you reopen a Factory layout file.
Note: If you use only one of these applications, you can deselect these options. When you deselect them, the performance of your application may improve.
To change the update settings:
To open the Factory Options dialog, select one of the following ways:
- If you are working in a Factory layout, on the Factory tab, click Options > Factory Options
. - If you are not working in a Factory layout, on the Factory tab, click Factory Launch > Factory Options .
- If you are working in a Factory layout, on the Factory tab, click Options > Factory Options
On the Update Settings tab, specify the following settings:
Auto-update the IAM file from the LAYOUTDATA file
- [Default] Select to automatically update the IAM file to match the LAYOUTDATA file.
- Deselect if you prefer to manually update the IAM file. To update the file, you can click the Update IAM from LAYOUTDATA command in the Factory tab.
Tell me if the IAM file is out of date with the LAYOUTDATA file
- Select to receive notifications when the IAM file is out of date with the LAYOUTDATA file.
Note: This option is only visible if the Auto-update the IAM file... option is deselected.
