Overview
Golaem embeds both licensed and free features.
- It can be used without license for visualizing simulation results, using the layout features to modify simulations, rendering, and so on.
- However, a license must be found for a simulation to happen. The license check is done the first time a simulation is launched. If a license is not found at this step, a message will appear in the script editor, and no character will appear in the viewport.
See below the details of which features are available depending on the type of license:

In other Software
Golaem plugins for other software than Maya do not use a Golaem license. All their features are usable for free.
Force the fetch of no License
By default, Golaem draws a license if you try to simulate. If you want to ensure a particular user or computer will not get access to a license, your can force Golaem to the fetch of a Golaem license by setting the GLMCROWD_NO_LICENSE environment variable to 1.
Batch Export a Golaem Simulation
Note that for batch export, the GLMCROWD_BATCH_ENABLE must be set and nodes be updated at each frame. The command glmBatchCrowdSimulationExporter set this variable temporary when called.
