Graph Properties Dialog

This dialog lets you to change the display properties of the graph.

An example of Graph Properties dialog in InfoWorks ICM:

It is displayed when you right-click on the Graph View and choose Graph properties from the popup menu, or when you double-click on the axis of interest on the graph.

Dialog description

  • The Axes Page allows you to change the labels, ranges, and other display options for the x and y axes. Each separate axis has its own tab on the page.
  • Tip: The decimal precision of both the X and the Y axis can be customised for scatter graphs whereas only the decimal precision of the Y axis can be changed for other graphs
  • The Traces Page shows the style for each trace on the graph. Double-click on a trace on this page to display the Trace Style dialog.
  • The General Page allows setting of a page title and overall styles. Default titles are assigned to every page of the graph when the graph is generated. You can customise any page title by following the steps described below:
    • Display the Graph Properties dialog by right-hand clicking on the Graph View or by double-clicking on an axis.
    • Click the General page.
    • Type a page title in the Title box.
    • Click OK.
    • Repeat for any other graph page.

The various options on the dialog are fairly self explanatory.

Note: Changes made to graph properties in this dialog will only apply to the current view of the graph.

Default properties

Clicking the Default button will prompt you to save the current settings on the dialog as defaults for future graphs. Only generic settings are saved. For example, axis titles that may vary from one graph to another are not saved.

Note that when working with Graphs stored in the database, a Save button is displayed instead of the Default button. Click Save to save the settings for a particular graph; settings for other graphs will not be affected.
