InfoSurge Toolbar
The primary InfoSurge user interface consists of the InfoSurge toolbar as shown below. This toolbar is added to the existing InfoWater Pro Attribute Browser toolbar. Each InfoSurge tool has a specific function and will be made active when the proper element type is selected and made available for editing in the Attribute Browser. Toolbar buttons that are grayed out do not apply to the selected element. The various toolbar buttons will become active as different element types are selected.
The available InfoSurge toolbar buttons are as follows:
-
Identify Surge Elements - By clicking on the Identify Surge Elements
button, you will bring up a list of options that will allow you to add certain Surge elements to a domain.
-
Axillary Calculator - InfoSurge comes with a series of Axillary Utility Surge Calculators to assist you in finding the data needed to run a Surge analysis.
-
Demand Change - This button is only active when a junction is selected in the Attribute Browser. The Demand Change dialog box allows you to select a curve to be used to change demand at a node during the Surge simulation.
-
Pump Operation Change - The Pump Operation Change function is only active when a pump is selected in the Attribute Browser and it is used to describe the pump operational changes during transient analysis.
-
AV (TCV) Operation Change - This button is only active when an Active Valve (AV) or a Throttle Control Valve (TCV) is selected in the Attribute Browser. This dialog box allows you to specify the curve that describes the valve stem position with respect to time.
-
Pipe Wave Speed - The Pipe Wave Speed is only active when a pipe is selected in the Attribute Browser. Pipe Wave Speed can be entered or changed for individual pipes.
-
Pump Surge Data - The Pump Surge Data is only active when a pimp is selected in the Attribute Browser and it is used to specify the properties of the pump to be used in the surge analysis.
-
AV (TCV) Surge Data - The AV (TCV) Surge Data dialog box is only active when a Throttle Control Valve is selected in the Attribute Browser and it is used to specify the valve element as an active valve in the surge analysis and to specify the bypass line and the check valve specifications if required.
-
Surge Protection Device - The Surge Protection Device
