To Save Tube and Pipe Files to the ISOGEN Format

Use the ISOGEN Output command to save one or multiple runs to ISOGEN .pcf files . When saving multiple runs, you can rename files and determine whether to create a single .pcf file or multiple .pcf files.

To ensure accurate information for the manufacture of runs containing bent tubes, flexible hose, or custom bent pipe segments, edit the representation in the ISOGEN application as you need.

Note: When saving to the ISOGEN format, any runs containing tube and pipe components from previous versions must be validated. Use the dialog box that is displayed to identify the components in the graphics window and verify the ISOGEN information for each one.

Save a single run to ISOGEN format

To output the ISOGEN file for a specific run in the primary runs assembly , you can apply the ISOGEN Output command in the run environment.

  1. In the Model browser, activate the run to save.
  2. On the ribbon, click Pipe Run tab Manage panel ISOGEN Output.
  3. In the ISOGEN Output dialog box, specify the destination folder, file name, and ISOGEN file type.
  4. Click Save.

    The .pcf file, which contains only the ISOGEN information for the active run, is automatically named and saved to the specified location.

Tip: If the primary runs assembly contains only one run, you can activate the primary runs assembly and apply the ISOGEN Output command. The ISOGEN file always output the single run accordingly.

Save multiple runs to ISOGEN format

By default, all runs in the active assembly are included and saved to a single .pcf file in your project work space.

  1. In the Model browser, activate the primary runs assembly .
  2. On the ribbon, click Pipe Run tab Manage panel ISOGEN Output.

    The ISOGEN Output dialog box is displayed.

  3. In the ISOGEN Output dialog box, specify the destination folder, file name, and ISOGEN file type.
  4. Optionally, if the primary runs assembly contains multiple runs, click Options, set the options, and then click OK. Us Options to specify which runs that are contained in the primary runs assembly to include in the ISOGEN output and to control the location for the created ISOGEN .pcf files.
    • To select the runs to include, click the check box beside the needed runs.
    • To create individual files for each run, click the Output ISOGEN file for each Run check box.
    • When the Output ISOGEN file for each Run option is checked, you can rename ISOGEN file names for each run. Right-click the ISOGEN file name to customize, select Rename from the context menu, and then enter the new name.
    • To change the location for the saved files, click Browse to navigate to and select a new destination. You can also set the destination folder later when you return to the ISOGEN Output dialog box.
    Note: When the primary runs assembly only contains one run, the Options command is disabled.
  5. In the ISOGEN Output dialog box, click Save. The .pcf extension is added to the file name.

    By default, the .pcf file(s) are created with the specified names and in the designated location. You can rename and relocate the files if needed.

Note: Angle attribute is also exported when saving one or multiple runs to ISOGEN .pcf files.
