Lesson 4: Save to AutoCAD

Once you have created a proposed feature, you can share it with others. If your process requires the submission of a plain AutoCAD drawing, use the Save Current Drawing To AutoCAD feature to create an editable DWG file.

AutoCAD Map 3D toolset saves out a drawing containing only the area of the map that appears on the screen when you select the command, and only the layers that are showing. That way, you can create a small drawing showing only the area of interest. Zoom into the area of interest and deselect layers in the Display Manager to control what gets saved.

In the resulting drawing, each feature layer becomes an AutoCAD layer. Use the Layer Properties Manager to turn off and style layers.
