You can use the ATF (Autodesk Translation Framework) file translation system to export Autodesk Maya and 3rd-party file formats.
Note: Maya support for ATF is Windows only.
- Select
Export Selected >
. The Maya Export options appear.
/ - Select from the following ATF file types in the
File Type menu:
- IGES_ATF
- JT_ATF
- DXF_ATF
- PARASOLID_ATF
- SAT_ATF
- STEP_ATF
- STL_ATF
- WIRE_ATF
- INVENTOR_ATF
- CATIAV5_ATF
- DWG_ATF / DXF_ATF
- NX_ATF
- Select any of the Export preferences available:

Default file extensions:
When on (default), exports the file with the extension for the selected File type.
- Preserve references:
If Preserve Reference is turned on, the references within the exported file are preserved. If it is turned off, all references are exported within the file; that is, they are no longer references, but are now objects in the scene. The default is off.
- Export unloaded references:
Exports any unloaded reference files associated with the current scene.
