Maya uses the ATF (Autodesk Translation Framework) file translation system to simplify data exchange of both Autodesk and 3rd-party file formats.
Note: There is only Windows support for ATF.
To import ATF files:
- Select
.
The Maya Import window appears.
>
- Locate your ATF file and select from one of the following supported ATF file types:
- IGES_ATF
- JT_ATF
- PARASOLID_ATF
- SAT_ATF
- STEP_ATF
- STL_ATF
- WIRE_ATF
- CATIAV4_ATF
- CATIAV5_ATF
- DWG_ATF / DXF_ATF
- NX_ATF
- PROE_ATF
- Expand File Type Specific Options and activate Aruba Tessellation or ATF Tessellation to activate that specific ATF type's options.
- Adjust the settings as necessary. For a description of these settings, see Autodesk Translation Framework (ATF) in the Import options topic.
- If you want to use stitching, activate ATF Stitching Services, use the Tolerance slider to set a limit over which gaps are not stitched, and pick which options to group your surfaces together in the Separation by list.
Note: ATF becomes unstable if you import an .iges file, followed by a .step file or vice-versa. Try importing them in separate sessions.
