To measure a range of items in a sequence

When you simulate or run an inspection sequence using the Run tab, PowerInspect measures all the items in the sequence by default. If you want to measure only part of the sequence, you can use a range to restrict the inspection to a group of sequential items.

Note: The Range panel is available only when creating inspections for CNC and OMV machines.

To create a range:

  1. In the inspection sequence, select the item that you want to be first in the range.
  2. Click Measure tab > Range panel > Start Range. The start of the range is marked with a start arrow icon, and the following items in the inspection sequence are marked with a double-headed icon.
  3. In the inspection sequence, select the item that you want to be last in the range.
  4. Click Measure tab > Range panel > End Range. The end of the range is marked with an end arrow icon.
  5. To simulate or run the range, select the Run tab, then select Simulate Program or Run Program and use the buttons to control the inspection.
Note: The Run Program tab is available only when creating an inspection for use on CNC machines.

To remove the range, click Measure tab > Range panel > Reset Range.
