To combine multiple additive toolpaths into a single toolpath

If you have separate additive toolpaths for separate features but want to deposit the features together, you can combine the toolpaths into one. By combining toolpaths, deposition segments within the same layer-band (index) are grouped. This means, for example, if you combined two toolpaths, the first layer-bands for both toolpaths are deposited, then the next, and so on.

  1. In the Explorer, select two or more additive toolpaths.
  2. Click Additive tab > Editing panel > Combine Layers.

    The Combine Layers dialog opens.

  3. By default, the combined toolpath inherits the process parameters of the original toolpaths. If you want PowerMill to automatically update the process parameters for the combined toolpath, select the Reapply process parameters check box.
  4. Enter a New toolpath name for the combined toolpath.
  5. Click Apply.
Note: The combined toolpath inherits the options from the toolpath that was active in the initial selection. If no toolpath was active in the selection, the options are inherited from the first toolpath that was selected.
