Use the Export page to specify options for exporting solid hole features to PowerMill, as PowerMill hole features.
- Click File > Options > Application Options > Manufacturing > Export.
- Specify the export settings using the following options:
Feature Export
- Export to
PowerMill version — Select the version of
PowerMill you want the macro and xml file to be compatible with from:
- 6.0 — This is the default setting and only exports holes as an .xml file.
- 2013 — This export all feature types using multiple feature sets as a .mac file.
Note: It is recommended that you use the xml file wherever possible.
Hole Feature Export
- Export hole features to the PowerMill module — Select this option to export solid hole features, including lightweight holes, as PowerMill's hole features. Deselect this option to export the features as surface geometry.
- Hole workplane angular tolerance — Enter a value to specify the angular tolerance, which determines whether two holes lie in the same plane. If the holes lie in the same plane within the angular tolerance, one workplane is exported to define their common plane. If they don't, a workplane is exported for each hole.
- Hole chamfers — Select an option from the drop-down list to specify the export of hole chamfer sections to PowerMill.
- Create Hole Geometry — Select this option to export holes as geometry as well as a feature.
Export Assembly Components
- Export assembly components in multiple files — Select this option to export a single file containing all the exported entities, plus individual files for exported components. Deselect this option to export only the single file. This option is only valid when exporting using Autodesk Manufacturing Data Exchange Utility.
- File prefix — Use this option with the multiple file export option to add a prefix to the file name being exported.
