A chamfer is a specialized line created between two lines.
Suppose we have two lines as shown below:
A chamfer
between the two original lines
is shown below.
Two chamfer options are available:
- Wireframe tab > Create panel > Chamfer — lines are trimmed back to the chamfer
- Wireframe tab > Create panel > Chamfer > Chamfer Untrimmed — lines are left untrimmed
A chamfer is defined in one of the following ways:
- Angle Distance
(default) — angle from the first line
and its distance along the first line
(measured from the point intersection of the two lines):
- Angle Length — its length
and angle
from the first line:
- Distance Along — distances along both lines
(measured from the point of intersection of the two lines):
Specify the default chamfer type and size using the Options dialog.
You can also create custom chamfers by specifying the line length and angle, and create chamfers using the Chamfer Editor dialog.
