Use the Tree page of the Options dialog to control when objects in an assembly are highlighted.
- Click File > Options > Application Options > Assembly > Tree.
- Use the following options to specify assembly tree settings:
- Off — Objects in the assembly are not highlighted by selecting an item in the assembly tree.
- On mouse moving — The object under the cursor in the assembly tree is highlighted in both the tree and graphical window. The item under the cursor is drawn in a bounding box around the highlighted component.
If the assembly is displayed in shaded mode, the bounding box is drawn as a transparent shaded box. A dashed wireframe box is used if the assembly is displayed in wireframe mode.
- On item selection — The object you select in the assembly tree is highlighted in the graphical window. The object is not highlighted when the cursor is moved outside the tree browser.
- Select components in graphics when selected in tree — Select this option to select the component in the model when it is selected in the assembly tree. Deselect this option to highlight a component in the model when it is selected in the assembly tree. This setting is deselected by default.
