To limit wireframe objects using another wireframe object:
- Select the wireframe object to use as the cutting object

- Click Edit tab > Limit panel > Selection to display the Limit selection toolbar.
- To keep a copy of the wireframe to be limited, click Keep original
. The button changes to
to reflect the selection.
- Click Limit Mode
and select the wireframe object you want to limit. The selected object automatically extends or trims back to the cutting object.
- Where you select the object determines how it is limited:
- You can limit multiple wireframe objects to the cutting object by box-selection. Click Keep both
to select this option. The button changes to

You can also use the Selection option to limit two pieces of wireframe even though they do not intersect:
- Create two objects that do not intersect.
- Rotate the view so that the wireframe objects appear to intersect.
- Click Edit tab > Limit panel > Selection to display the Limit Selection toolbar.
- Select one of the objects as the cutting item.
- Select the other object to limit.
The second object is trimmed to the intersection in the view.
