Connecting elements

You can use 2 connecting elements to connect the beam with the column:

• plate
• angles.

Specify the following parameters for the connection using a plate:

• one-sided or 2-sided plate (one-sided plate is generated, if the One side option is selected)
• material of the plate
• height h _p
• width b_p
• thickness t _p
• location of the plate:

  distance d from the top edge of the beam

  If the Center option is selected, the plate is positioned symmetrically in relation to the beam axis.

• connection type:

  bolted

  welded.

Specify the following parameters for the connection using angles:

• angle section

To select an angle section, click the button on the Angles tab and select an angle section in the Section Selection dialog.

• material of the angle
• angle length l_a
• location of the angle:

  distance d _a from the top edge of the beam

  If the Center option is selected, the angle is positioned symmetrically in relation to the beam axis.

• connection type (with the beam and with the column):

• bolted
• welded.

• position of the angle:
