Review and modify properties of an element or view instance.
Use the Properties palette to modify the instance properties of
- the element you are about to place using a tool
- elements selected in the drawing area
- the active view
- instance properties of an element, select the element.
- instance properties of a view, select the view name in the Project Browser.
- structural analytical properties of a structural element, select the element, and in the Properties palette, select the element specific analytical properties from the Properties filter.
When multiple elements are selected, the parameters they share will be displayed. If values of the parameters are different, the instance properties will report the value based on the Multiple Values Indication. See Specify Multiple Values Indication Settings.
To modify an instance property, select the value field for the property, and either enter a value or select one from the drop-down list. For a property with a long list of options, enter keywords directly in the value field to search the list. A filtered list displays with the matched keywords highlighted. Then, simply select the value from the filtered list.

To save changes to properties
- Move the cursor off the palette.
- Press Enter (twice if a new value is selected from a drop-down).
- Click Apply.
To commit a change you make to a property value, do any of the following:
If making multiple changes, you can press Tab to move from one property to the next, or just click the next one you want to change. You can then use any of the methods listed above to commit all your changes at once.
To cancel changes before committing them, press Esc twice. Closing the palette also cancels your changes.
