To Export Nest Data

Export nest data for post-processing and toolpath creation in other applications. Before you start, you might want to make changes to the configuration file that Inventor Nesting uses for export.

  1. Select one or more sheets in the Inventor Nesting browser.
  2. Click Export on the Inventor Nesting ribbon.
  3. Enter a file name and path and select a format for export.
You can export to:
  • DXF (AutoCAD): Use this with a CAM package in AutoCAD to generate toolpaths, or import the DXF into Inventor to extrude it to a 3D model and create toolpaths and tabs using Inventor HSM.
  • MSI (TruNest) files: Use Autodesk's dedicated nesting software TruNest to post-process and create toolpaths.
