Vault Connector

Introduction

The Vault Connector bridges Autodesk Vault Professional and Autodesk Fusion Manage, enabling the synchronization of Vault Items directly to a Fusion Manage workspace. This feature is included with Vault Professional and requires an active license for Autodesk Fusion Manage to enable synchronization. This allows for seamless data flow between engineering design data and enterprise-wide business processes.

This documentation will guide administrators through the configuration process and show users how to leverage the feature.

Items can be synchronized in two ways:

  • On-Demand: Users can manually push one or more Items from Vault to Fusion Manage at any time.
    • Only users with the permission "JobQueueAdd" will be able to use the Sync to Fusion Manage action.
    • A toast notification will appear after every sync attempt, confirming whether it was successful or unsuccessful.
  • Automated: Synchronization can be configured to trigger automatically as part of a lifecycle state change, such as when an Item is released.
Note: For Vault Office users, synchronization is limited to the automated process triggered by a lifecycle state change. The on-demand "Sync to Fusion Manage" action is not available.

Using the Vault Connector

Once configured, users can sync Items to Fusion Manage. The status of the synchronization is tracked using three dedicated Vault properties.

Sync Status Properties:

  • Fusion Manage Link State
    • Up to Date:
    • Out of Date:
  • Fusion Manage Sync Status
    • Successful
    • Error
  • Fusion Manage Synced Date

Open in Fusion Manage:

For any Item that has been successfully synchronized, users can use this command to open it directly in Fusion Manage.
