Create breakout section views
Learn how to remove a defined area of material to expose interior features in an existing drawing view in the Drawing workspace in Fusion.
Select Create > Breakout Section View
.
The Breakout Section View dialog displays.
Select the drawing view on which you want to create the breakout section.
Click to place the first point of the breakout section profile.
Click to place the next point of the breakout section profile.
Continue placing points as needed.
The Check icon
displays after you place at least 3 points.
Click the Check icon
to complete the breakout section profile.
Select the desired options in the Breakout Section View dialog.
Press
Enter
or click OK to complete the Breakout Section View command.
The view displays a defined area of removed material, exposing interior features. Isometric projected views inherit the breakout cut.
Tips
- The depth distance is set to half of your design's depth by default, but you can type in any depth value.
- If you set the depth to a different value than the default and you want to go back to the default, use Measure Half Depth
