In this tutorial, we simulate the air flow distribution through a manifold with three outlet ports.
The geometry consists of an inlet tube, three outlet tubes, and a distribution chamber:
Our goal is to understand the effects of removing one of the outlet ports. After running the initial scenario, we will clone the design, return to the CAD model to remove the outlet, and update the new design.
In the second design of this study, we remove the middle outlet tube, and compare the resultant flow distribution with the original design. We use the Design Review Center to study the effects on the flow of removing the outlet and the Critical Values table to assess the effect on the flow rates and to plot the data.
