Working with Girders

Interior and exterior girders are bridge components within girder groups, and can be edited individually. Select an individual girder to review and modify individual girder styles from a catalog of precast girder component styles, adjust offsets, or review girder schematics.

You can also run Line Girder Analysis (preview) for all prestressed girders of a concrete bridge. See About Line Girder Analysis (Preview) for more information.

Click the same girder group three times to select an interior or exterior girder within a girder group. The Girder asset card will display.
Girder Asset Card
  1. The Girder asset card title will change depending on the bridge style type. InfraWorks 360 supports steel and concrete girder bridges.
  2. Hover the mouse cursor over the girder group or girder name to view and/or select the desired girder group or girder.
  3. Click in the Utility Bar to enter Edit mode. Click the orange girder type name to open the Select Component style catalog. Double-click a girder style to modify the current girder component style.
  4. Click a girder image to view a girder schematic.
  5. Directly modify girder start offset and end offset in Edit mode.
  6. Girder section dimensions are read-only values in the girder asset card.

Additional tips

Girder start and end station locations are defined by the order in which a user drew the related design road. A girder start station is closest to the road startpoint. When looking from the start station to the end station of a bridge, girder group, or girder, the positive lateral direction of an offset is to the right.

Review and modify Girder properties through the Properties Palette. Select the Girder, right click and choose Properties. Enter Edit mode and click the desired field(s) to modify.
